Spanish Oaks

las vegas, nevada

In one of Las Vegas’s premiere vintage enclaves—once home to casino entertainers and executives during the city’s glamorous heyday—this residence had been extensively altered by successive renovations, leaving little of its original character intact.

The project became an inspired reimagining, drawing from the home’s original 1970s Spanish-influenced architecture. A renewed emphasis on shaded thresholds and courtyard-centered living restores spatial rhythm and architectural continuity.

Softened arches, kiva-inspired hearths, and layered indoor-outdoor rooms shape a sequence of spaces that feel sun-washed yet intimate. Rather than retreat from the desert, the home opens fully to it, framing gardens, fountains, and a pool as part of a continuous interior landscape—creating a private, secluded world a small distance off the Las Vegas Strip.

The Inspiration and Materials

Drawing from the landscape of nearby Red Rock Canyon, we developed an interior palette of Mojave neutrals—layered tans, whites, and creams grounded by rusts and ochres from its Aztec sandstone, and deep greens drawn from cactus and sagebrush.
